Found in Borneo in ridge top montane and mossy oak laurel forests at elevations of 1400 to 2200 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a tough, branching rhizome giving rise to close set, clump-forming, narrowly conical to fusiform, erect pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, linear-ligulate, obtuse, mucronate, 5 main nerved, narrow, sulcate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect, porrect to gently curving, peduncle terete, filiform, 2.4 to 5.8" [6 to 14.5 cm] long, glabrous to minutely furfuraceous above, rachis quadrangular, at a sharp angle to the peduncle, .6 to 1.4" [1.5 to 3.5 cm] long, lax to subdense, 8 to 17 flowered inflorescence carrying non-resupinate flowers
