Found in Sumatra at elevations around 1000 to 1800 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with close set, terete pseudobulbs carrying narrowly lanceolate, thin, abruptly narrowing in the upper third, gradually narrowing below into the petilate base leaves that blooms in the winter on a thin, flattened, quadrangular in cross-sectoin, to 11.2" [28 cm] long, several to many flowered inflorescence arising on newly developing stems as the leaves emerge and has broadly ovate, erose floral bracts.
