Found in Sumatra in montane forests at elevations around 1200 to 1700 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool epiphyte with a freely branching rhizome giving rise to close set, cylindrical, obtuse pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, almost linear, abruptly narrowing apically, shortly acute, abruptly narrowing below into the channelled petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect but apically nodding, arising on mature pseudobulb, thin peduncle, 2.6 to 4.4" [6.5 to 11 cm] long, rachis zig-zag, quadrangular in cross-section, to 4.8 to 7.2" [12 to 18 cm] long, 2 ranked, laxly many flowered inflorescence carrying light green flowers
Similar to D cornutum but this one differs in the short broad stelida and the lip shape.
