Common Name The Modest Dendrochilum
Flower Size .24 to .3" [6 to 7.5 mm]
Found in Borneo in lower montane forets, primary forests, rocky places and riparian forests at elevations of 400 to 2000 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with .4 to 2.2" [1 to 5.5 cm] between eachterete, narrowly oblong to narrowly fusiform, smooth pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, ovate ellipticto narrowly ellipitc, often constricted below the apex, acute to shortly acuminate, sometimes narrrowly obtuse, thin textured, 5 to 7 main nerved, sulcate and canaliculate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring summer and fall on agerntly curving, peduncle filiform, .8 to 3" [2 to 7.5 cm] long, rachis quadrangular, somewhat compressed, 1.6 to 5.6" [4 to 14 cm] long, laxly to densely many flowered inflorescence with 1 to 6 ovate, apiculate to acuminate bracts and ovate-orbicular to broadly ovate, apiculate acute to sometimes obtuse, concave floral bracts and carrying fragrant flowers.
