Found in Sumatra in forests at elevations around 850 meters as a miniature sized epiphyte with long, creeping pendulous rhizome giving rise to cylindrical, narroiwng a little towards the apex, broader at the base pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic-lanceolate, somewhat obtuse, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect , flowers from the base, 3.6 to 6.8" [9 to 17 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence carrying pale yellow flowers.

Schlechter stated that the short lip, the very short column with its very long arms and the bifid apical wings separated this species from all others in the section.
