Found in Borneo in montane forests at elevations around 800 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with an elongate, branching rhizome with .4 to .6" [1 to 1.5 cm] between each,conical to fusiform, obtuse pseudubulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, clothed in black sparse pubescence when young, less so in maturity, narrowly elliptic, obtuse to subacute, 5 nerved, narrowly cuneate below into the canaliculate, petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect to slightly curved, densely adpressed, black pubescent, ,peduncle 1.4 to 1.6" [3.5 to 4cm] long, rachis quadrangular, 1.48 to .16" [3.7 to 4cm] long, laxly 1 to 20 flowered inflorescence

Similar to D pubescens but D vestitum differs in the more numerous flowers, the distinctly clawed lip and the column with a deeply toothed apical hood and by the longer stelida
