Common Name The Mulu Dendrobium [A Bornean National Park in Sarawak]

Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm] long

Found in Sarawak Borneo in riverine forests at elevations around 50 meters as a small to medium sized, hot growing epiphyte without plant data that blooms on a pendent, peduncle ,2 to .4" [.5 to 1 cm] long, rachis .4 to .6" [1 to 1.5 cm] long, purplish green, 3 to 6 flowered inflorescence with an ovate to triangular-ovate, acute, concave, purplish green, much shorter than the ovary floral bract.

This species belongs to a group within SECTION Calcarifera which include D hymneophyllum, D corydaliflorum and D panduriferum but D muluense is distinguished by the distinctly incurved mentum, the lip with a triangular-ovate blade with strongly deflexed and revolute distal margins and an oblong, obtuse, concave, fleshy callus at the blade base.
