Common Name Nieuwenhuis' Dendrobium [Dutch Military Doctor in Dutch East Indies later 1800's]

Found in Kalimantan Borneo without locational data as a large to giant sized epiphyte with horizontal to pendent, approximate, sulcate, leafy in youth stems carrying oblong, unequally acute, uyndulate, median nerve sulcate above, carinate beneath, glossy green, dingy violet beneath leaves that blooms on the nodes of leafless stems, pendent, peduncle and rachis 1.4" [3.5 cm] long, laxly to 6 flowered inflorescence with oblong, adpressed, pale with obscure violet dots, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying pendent to horizontal flowers with pale yellowish green sepals densely spotted purple in longitudinal lines, a green mentum spotted violet, pale greenish yellow petals with 6 to 8 purple spotted central stripes. side lobes of the lip is lemon spotted basally with red, mid-lobe lemon spotted pale violet apically, column yellowish white and spotted with violet underneath and a white anther cap.
