Common Name Painted Dendrobium [refers to the Bold magenta nerves on the lip]

Flower Size

Found in Sabah and Sarawak Borneo in lower montane mossy forests at elevations around 1100 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with clustered, erect to spreading to pendent, subclavate to narrowly cylindrical stems carrying ovate to elliptic, obliquely acute to acuminate leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on pendent, arising on leafless canes, peduncle and rachis .2 to .8" [.5 to 2 cm] long, 2 to 5 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute, pink much shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying slightly scented, color variable flowers from pink with a magenta lined lip to yellow sepals, white petals and a greenish yellow lip.
