Common Name or Meaning The Tiny Flowered Diadenium
Flower Size 1/5" [.5cm]
Found in Ecuador, Peru and Brazil in tropical montane forests at elevations of 140 to 900 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot growing epiphyte with oblong-cylindric, complante, bright green to red brown pseudobulbs enveloped below by 1 to 2 leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a single apical, lanceolate, acute, becoming conduplicate below into the petiolate base leaf and blooms in the late fall and early winter on an erect, axillary, paniculate, lightly fractiflex, 3 3/4" to 12" [9 to 30 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence arising as the pseudobulbs mature.
