Found only in Costa Rica at elevations around 300 to 1400 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with an erect to ascending stem enveloped by leaf sheaths carrying gramineous, distichous, linaer-oblong, acute, more or less hispidulous on the margins above the middle, complanate below into the base leaves that blooms in the spring on axillary, lateral, concealed at the base bt leaf sheaths, .2 to .4" [.5 to 1 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with scarious, round-ovate, acute, apically thickened floral bracts
