Found in Amazonas Brazil in camparinara and dense rain forests on shrubs close to the ground at elevations of 70 to 80 meters as a medium to large sized, hot growing epiphyte with an elongate, terete, suberect, simple to basally branched stem enveloped by imbricating, superposed, glabrous, deep green to entirely brown leaf sheath bases carrying narrowly elliptic, acute, basally rounded, lax, glabrous, deciduous, articulated to the sheath, margin entire, deep green to entirely brown leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a lateral, axillary, peduncle to .18" [4.6 mm] long, to .33" [8.2 mm] long overall, single flowered inflorescence with 2 basal, tubular, glabrous, cream to yellowish, margins entire bracts and a similar floral bract.

Similar to D tenuis but it has terete and coriaceous leaves , globualr flowers with a broadly rounded lip that ias apiculate in the middle
