Found only in Costa Rica in moist rain and cloud forests on shady tree trunks at elevations around 200 to 2000 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with a pendant, simple to branching, slightly compressed stem carrying subrecurvate-patent, oblong, obtuse and mucronate-serrulate apically leaves that blooms in the spring on a short, .32 to .44" [.8 to 1.1 cm] long, erect-patent, single flowered inflorescence with cucullate-ovate, apiculate floral bracts and a muricate ovary.
