Found only in Nicaragua and Costa Rica at elevations of 500 to 2000 meters in moist rain forests on shady tree trunks as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with few branching, leafy stems enveloped basally by imbricating leaf sheaths carrying ovate-oblong, rounded basally leaves that blooms at most any time of the year on an axillary, .4 to .6" [1 to 1.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with thin-textured flowers and a hispid-muricate ovary
