Found in Peru in cool, lower level cloud forests at elevations around 2000 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a pendant, pseudomonopodial, leafy throughout, basally rooting stem carrying oblong, obtuse, basally imbricate and clasping leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, short, single flowered inflorescence holding the deeply cupped flower close to the stem and leaf base.
