Found in the Chinese Himalayas, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam in humid evergreen forests at elevations of 700 to 800 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with a fusiform or moniliform rhixome giving rise to a short stem carrying 2 scale-like, brown sheaths that blooms in the spring on a 1/4" to 3/8" [.7 to .9 cm] long, densely 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence with triangular-lanceolate, acute floral bracts.
