Found in Natal South Africa and Madagascar in dune forests as a miniature sized, cold growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with large colorless tubers giving rise to a pale brown to whitish, slender, leafless stem that blooms in the winter on an erect, short, successively 1 to 2, several flowered inflorescence
