Found in Guangxi and Vietnam in primary and secondary closed evergreen forests on limestone at elevations of 300-600 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, hot to warm growing mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with dark gray to dull purple stems carrying 1 to 3 bracts and a few densely arranged, successively opening flowers with ovcate, acute floral bracts occuring in the late winter and earlier spring. .
