Found in Guantanamo and Holguin provinces of Cuba in rainforests and near rivers and streams at elevations around 500 meters as a just medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte, terrestrial or lithophyte with a creeping, ascending, rigid, reed-like stem carrying 1 to 5, lanceolate-elliptic, coriaceous leaves that blooms in the fall through summer on a terminal, to 8" [to 20 cm] long, 3 to 10 flowered inflorescence
