Found in New Guinea at elevations around 200 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot growing epiphyte with an elongate rhizome giving rise to 4 angled, compressed, ovate to elliptic pseudobulbs carrying a single, erect-patent, coriaceous,ligulate, obtuse narrowing below into the subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an apical, compressed, .24" [6 mm] long, successively few flowered inflorescence.
Schlecther states that the flowers are pale yellow with the lip carmine-red bordered in the lower half.
