Found in SW & S Cape Province South Africa in sandy areas in mountains at elevations of sealevel to 1000 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with cauline, mostly sheathing, purple basrred at base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, to 10" [to 25 cm] long, corymbose, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence
