Found in southwestern Cape Province South Africa in moss banks in stony soils at elevations of 1000 to 1500 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with cauline, linear, erect, imbricate leaves that blooms in the late spring on an erect, lax, to 12" [to 30 cm] long, to 20 flowered inflorescence
