Found in Cape Province, Lesotho, Natal and Orange Free State in stony grasslands in full sun at elevations of 1200 to 2100 meters as a medium to just large sized, cold growing terrestrial with rigid, linear-lanceolate leaves that blooms in the late spring on an erect, terminal, laxly several flowered inflorescence
