Found in SW Cape Province South Africa, on mossy rock ledges in seepages in partial sun at elevations of 600 to 1000 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terresrial with cauline, lower 2 to 3 spreading, ovate, purple below leaves that blooms in the later spring on an erect, terminal, sub-corymbose, to 8" [20 cm] long, 1 to 10 flowered inflorescence,
