Found in Lesotho, Natal, Orange Free State and Swaziland South Africa, in damp to dry grasslands on basalt or sandstone in full sun at elevations of 2400 to 3000 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terresrial that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, to 4" to 12" [10 to 30 cm] long, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence,
