Found in southwestern Cape Province South Africa on dry to damp rocky slopes in partial sun at elevations of 1000 to 1500 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with basal, lorate, green, spreading, leaves that blooms in the late spring on an erect, terminal, sub-corymbose, to 8" [to 20 cm] long, 2 to 8 flowered inflorescence,
