Found in southwestern Cape Province South Africa on damp and swampy slopes in mountains in full sun at elevations of 600 to 1300 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with radical, elliptic leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, to 10" [to 25 cm] long, subcorymbose to corymbose, densely 1 to many flowered inflorescence,
