Found in Ethiopia in montane grasslands and Podocarpus forests at elevations of 2000 to 2800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, prostrate, slightly cordate basally leaf that blooms in the later spring and summer on an erect, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence.

The only Ethiopian species with a single prostrate leaf, all others have 2 or more bourne along the stem.
