Found in east southeastern and southeastern Madagascar in very shady forests at elevations of 700 to 2000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing semi-terrestrial with an erect stem carrying 2, opposite, above the middle, oval-Lanceolate, subacute, rounded basally leaves that blooms in teh late spring and early summer on an erect, to 6" [15 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, green, subacute, single veined, semi embracing basally, 1/3 to 1/2 the length of the ovary floral bracts .
