Found in northern and central Madagascar in mossy forests in humus in shade at elevations of 1100 to 2000 meters as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying above the middle, 2, opposite, dull green above with 3 main rose-pink veins, red-purple beneath, assymetrically ovate, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a terminal, erect, .1.2" [3 cm] long, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence
