Common Name Dalton's Diuris - The Western Purple Donkey Orchid

Flower Size 1 to 1.4" [2.5 to 3.5 cm]

Found in Victoria Australia as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial species found in heathy forests and grassy river red Gum woodlands at elevations of 20 to 250 meters with 2, conduplicate, straight, linear leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, 12 to 20" [30 to 50 cm] long, 1 to 7 flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.

CAUTION Some references refer this species as a synonym of D punctata but I still have them as separate.
