Common Name Two Tail or Double Tail Orchid - Long Leafed Diuris - The Purple Pansy Orchid

Flower Size .8 to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm]

Found in Western Australia at elevations of 5 to 250 meters in forests, coastal heaths and on granite outcrops as a medium to large sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with a stout stem carrying 2 to 3, lanceolate or linear, conduplicate leaves and blooms in the late winter and spring on an erect, 4 to 14" [10 to 35 cm] long, 1 to 8 flowered, racemose inflorescence.
