Found in the highlands of eastern Victoria, at elevations of 800 to 1800 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 5 to 9, tufted, straight leaves that blooms in the spring in Australia on an erect, 6 to 14" [15 to 35 cm] long, 1 to 4, flowered inflorescence.
The Common Hover Fly - Melangyna viridiceps, is visible in the first photo and has its telescopic "mouth" organ extended ready to pollinate.
