Found in New Caledonia in sparse forests on trees or rocks in full sun as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte or lithophyte with slender, terete, first erect then drooping leaves that blooms in the spring on a 5 to 20 flowered inflorescence
Often cited as a synonym of D sylvanum but that species is a Dendrobium of the Section Grastidium
