Found in Antioquia department of Colombia as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped baally by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apicla, erect, thinly coriaceous, carinate, narrowly elliptical-linear, acute, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a slender, erect, arising from low on the ramicaul, provided with several distant bracts, 3.6 to 4.1" [9 to 11 cm] long, successively few flowered, racemose inflorescence with an as long as the epdicel floral bract.
Superficially resembles Dracula iricolor with the small, lavender, nutant, short-tailed flower borne by an erect peduncle. However, the caespitose habit and carinate lip od D incognita immediatly separate the 2. The lavender color of the sepals is produced by a blanket of short, purple hairs on a white background." This species is a natural hybrid between D iricolor and another, at this time unknown, species.
