Found in Ecuador without collection data as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with very thick roots giving rise to stout, erect ramicauls enveloped by loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thinly coriaceous, elliptical, acute, cuneate below into the condupicate, shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a more or less horizontal, arising from the base of the ramicaul, peduncle sparsely bracted, to 8" [20 cm] long, loose, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with tubular acute floral bracts
