Common Name The Isolated Drakaea - In Australia The Lonely Hammer Orchid

Flower Size .8 to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm]

Found in southwest Western Australia in bare sand in mallee shrublands near salt lakes at elevations around 350 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, dark green, densely hairy leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, 4 to 12" [10 to 30 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
