Common Name The Wasp-Like Drakaea - In Australia The Thin Lipped Hammer Orchid

Flower Size 1 to 1.4" [2.5 to 3.5 cm]

Found in southwest Western Australia in open forests and coastal scrub often on white sandy flats near swamps at elevations of 10 to 200 meters as a small to medium sized, cold to cool growing terrestrial with a single, greyish green, hairless to sometimes hairy leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, 10 to 16" [25 to 40 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
