Found in Sao Paulo state of Brazil in the Atlantic rainforest along the coast at elevations around 10 to 50 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by scarious sheaths and carrying a single, apcial, often flushed purple dorsally, oblanceolate leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, short, single flowered inflorescence carrying a small, fleshy flower
