Found from Guatemala to Colombia in primary forests at altitudes around 400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, often purple suffused, coriaceous, narrowly linear, acute, narrowly linear below into the base leaf that blooms in the summer and fall on a successively single flowered, very short inflorescence arising from near the apex of the ramicaul and enveloped basally by a bract and has thin floral bracts.
