Found in New South Wales, and Queensland Australia at elevations of 50 to 800 meters in in shallow moss-covered sandy soil on rock ledges and in crevices between rock plates as a miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying a few ground-hugging ovate, fully developed at blooming, dark green above reddish purple beneath, prominently veined, pubescent or not leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, 1.6 to 4.8" [4 to 12 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence.
