Common Name The Capitate Elleanthus

Flower Size

Found in Panama at elevations of 400 to 800 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with erect, non branching stems carrying lanceolate-elliptic, long acuminate, leaves with striate sheaths that blooms in the summer on a terminal, subcapitate inflorescence with ovate, acuminate, purple floral bracts.

Similar to E lentii differs in the much shorter floral bracts that are adpressed to the inflorescnece. The inflorescence is clearly capitate but it is not a member of the Section Cephalelyna
