Common Name Carnevali's Elleanthus [Venezuelan Botanist current]

Flower Size

Found in Napo province of Ecuador on embankments as a medium sized terrestrial with arcuate, elongate, slender, unbranched, the basal half leafless stem carrying plicate, ovate-elliptic, to ovate-lanceolate, long-acuminate, sessile into the base leaves that blooms on a terminal, cylindrical, to 4" [10 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence cymbiform, acute as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying pale pink flowers.

"A relatively small plant with pale pink flowers. It can be distinguished by approximate, quadrangular corpuscles located in the middle part of the cavity. The lip margins are irregularly denticulate." Szlatchetko & Kolanowska 2023
