Common Name The Galipan Elleanthus [A village in Venezuela]

Found in Miranda state of Venezuela st elevations of 1800 to 3400 meters as a cool to cold growing terrestrial with branched, branches fasciculate, erect, rigid, terete stems carrying lanceolate, obtuse, glabrous, subcordate, below into the base leaf that blooms in the later spring on a terminal, erect, loose, distichous, rachis flexuous, subglabrous, 6 to 12 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acuminate, concave, glabrous, more or less as long as the flower floral bracts.
"Often cited as s synonym of E aurantiacus but differs in the obtuse, subcordate leaves, and the loose distichous, flexuous, subglabrous inflorescence. Also similar to E phorcophyllus but differs in the larger leaves 3.2 x .52" [8 x 1.3 cm] versus 2.8 x .28" [7 x .07 cm], the petals are wider up to .01" [2.5 mm] vs up to .06 [1.5 mm] and the lip is as long as wide."
