Common Name The Grass-Like Leafed Elleanthus

Flower Size .15" [3mm]

Found in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil in rain or cloud forests at elevations of 200 to 1500 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to cool growing, usually erect but occasionally ascending epiphyte with a slender, leafy in the apical half stem enveloped completely by adpressed leaf sheaths and carrying linear, rather thin, 3 denticulate apically, mucronate dorsally, mucro surpases the tip of the leaf blade leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, caespitose, much shorter than the terminal leaf, .4" [1 cm] long, fractiflex, several flowered inflorescence enveloped completely by a leaf bearing sheath and with distichous, imbricating, ovate-lanceolate, cymbiform, acute to subacuminate floral bracts that are longer than the flowers.
