Common Name The Flax-Like Leaved Elleanthus
Flower Size 1/8" [4 mm]
Found in Surinam, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru and northern Brazil at elevations of 500 to 2000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing, densely caespitose terrestrial with a simple, erect, slender, basally naked, apically leafy stem enveloped completely by adpressed leaf sheaths and carrying obliquely erect, membraneous, plicate, linear, uneveny 3 toothed, mucronate apically leaves that blooms in the winter through summer on an elongate, .4 to 2.2" [1 to 5.5 cm] long, racemose, fractiflex, rachis slightly sinuous, many flowered inflorescence that is shorter than the terminal leaf and with strongly keeled, approximate not overlapping, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts that are usually longer than the flowers.
