Common Name Nora's Elleanthus [Mrs Dunsterville Orchid Enthusiast and Collector 1900's]

Found in southern Venezuela in tall forests at elevations of 1300 to 1700 meters as a giant [about 2 to 3 times larger than most large Elleanthus]sized, cool growing terrestrial with an erect, uppermost 20 to 30% leafy stems, below largely enveloped by old grey, nervose leaf sheaths, above carrying plicate, not deeply grooved, shiny green ventrally, dorsally duller elliptic, acuminate leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, short, densesly many flowered inflorescence with prominent, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
One of the tallest of the genus and carryig rose-pink to pale cream flowers, supported with pale to dark green bracts with some lavender flush towards the base. The lip margins are irregularly dentate and the approximate calli are ellipsoid-ovoid." Szlatchetko & Kolanowska 2023
