Common Name Tonduz' Elleanthus [Orchid Collector In Central America 1900's]

Found in Alajuela and Puntarenas province of Costa Rica, Chiriqui province of Panama and Choco' department Colombia in montane cloud forests on mossy tree trunks at elevations of 960 to 3000 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with much branching, stiff stems carrying thin, plicate, lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, long acuminate, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on a terminal, .4 to 1.6" [1 to 4 cm] long, flexuous, laxly few flowered inflorescence with ovate, acuminate, green, much longer than the ovary floral bracts.

"Characterized by the well separated lip calli and the lacerate margins of the lip."
