Found in Huanuco department of Peru along montain crests to the beginning of elfin forests at elevations around 1700 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with basally curved, erect above, glabrous stems carrying a 5 to 6, plicate, spirally arranged, lanceolate to narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, subsessile into the base leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, .8 to 1" [2 to 2.5 cm] long, flexuous, several flowered inflorescence with canaliculate, glabrous, with a thin membraneous margin, almost three times longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying white flowers with brownish hairs on the sepals and the ovary. .
"Distinguished by white flowers with brown furfuraceous exteriors. Similar to E caricoides and E maculatus in the narrow, linear-lanceolate leaves that are 7 to 10 times longer than wide but unlike them both E wallnoeferi has acute floral bracts versus longf acuminate and the petals are obovate to oblong-obovate versus linear to oblong.
