Found in Ecuador at elevations around 1500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a very short stem; pseudobulb ovate,flattened, ancipitous, single leafed apically and eveloped basally by imbricating, distichous, foliaceous sheaths carrying, flattened, held in a fan, knife shaped, acute, articlated to the sheath base leaves that blooms on an axillary, from an upper sheath, to 1" [2.5 cm] long, simultaneously opening, 3 flowered inflorescence.
